Grace and peace to you in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! July is a very special month! We are enjoying the warmth and sunshine. We celebrated 159 years of Canada on July 1^st and the 250^th birthday of the United States on July 4^th. I am reminded how the founding fathers of both nations based the countries on biblical principles. Our freedoms are grounded in Scripture and the God-given position of worth and equality for all humankind. Not so in many countries around the world where racism and discrimination run rampant and causes much suffering to marginalized peoples. We are reaching some of these people and we know of many who are followers of Jesus who must hide for fear of being killed. Please pray for a breakthrough to come that people will see the Light and repent and believe on Jesus! He is the only hope for the sinful condition of the world. God loves the world and wants everyone to come unto Him.

Interestingly, these days we are receiving a lot of response from people in Syria. A Muslim man wrote to tell of his dream wherein he was drowning in a sea of blood and screaming, “Lord save me!” Then he saw a light descending upon him and was washed with pure water and was fed and then he heard, “I am Jesus come to save you and I will not leave you.” He asked about the dream, and we led him to Jesus and he prayed the prayer of salvation.

Another man from Syria contacted us with many questions. He was touched by the love but expressed fear of being harmed. We encouraged him to not be afraid and he accepted Jesus as his Savior.

For a long time, I have been in communication with a Muslim man. I prayed that God would reveal Himself to him. After many conversations, he was reading both the Bible and the Quran, and finally told me that he had come to the conclusion that Jesus is the Greatest, not only evident in the Bible but also in the Quran he said. He prayed with me and repented.

We know that God’s plans are greater than anything happening politically. God is in control. God has the final word, and He has already defeated Satan. He will come again soon to judge the world. We must be ready and work while it is still day to make others ready for His soon return. We must be grounded in truth and in faith so as to withstand the trials and persecution coming. Let us not lose hope, for truly Christ is King!

Last month in the country of Jordan I had the privilege and honor of baptizing 8 people in the Jordan River. I believe these committed believers will be great witnesses, as we are all called to be witnesses for Christ. Let us pray for the Lord to bring to us daily opportunities to share the Gospel.

These days there are many excited people watching the FIFA World Cup. Exceptional athletes are being applauded for their skills and endurance. I am reminded in 1Cor. 9:25: “Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable.” Truly, one day we will attain an eternal reward for enduring and keeping the faith. Just to see Jesus and hear, “well done good and faithful servant” is all the reward we need. (Matthew 25:21)
