Grace and peace to you in Jesus' wonderful Name! Firstly, I want to express my deepest thanks for each and every person who stood with me in support of the great mission in Syria from which I recently returned!
"For a great and effective door has opened to me, and there are many adversaries"
(1 Corinthians 16:9)
The celebration was magnificent! The atmosphere was beautiful! The results were awesome! The Lord answered our prayers! We had close to 4500 people come. We had lots of music and singing and a group of young people put on a fantastic play about the resurrection of Jesus. My main message was on the transfiguration of Jesus Christ the King, which was the theme of the whole event. At that time in the east, they were celebrating this Christian holiday that commemorated the transfiguration.
The highlight was that 2000 people accepted the Lord! They stood to pray the prayer of repentance and to accept the Lord into their hearts and enthrone Him as their King, Lord, and Saviour! The newly saved group were comprised of nominal Christians, Muslims and Druze. What a great joy it was as we celebrated with heaven!
Many media people came to cover the event, both locally and internationally. It has been televised and will be aired several more times on three satellite stations, including Syria TV, as well as put on a Syrian website.
It was thrilling that everywhere I went I met people who have come to know the Lord through the Light For All Nations ministry. As I entered the sports field before the event, I met a young priest who greeted me very warmly saying, "I am your disciple! I grew in faith by learning from your teaching." What a joy it was for me to see the great joy on his face!
I also met a Druze family who had become believers and they too had been strengthened and built up in their faith through watching Light for All Nations. Wherever I went I was no stranger to the people.
After the event, as I was trying to sleep, I was pondering the event and the days leading up to it - the victories, the challenges and difficulties I went through, and I felt the Lord speaking to me clearly, "I kept all those who were appointed to eternal life." I felt so comforted and strengthened knowing that God is in control. All Praise to the Lord!
We overcame many obstacles and opposition that was clearly spiritual warfare. A few hours after the main evangelistic service, we know the enemy was angered. Two men on motorcycles went on the family property of our main organizer and set fire to her land, burning all their fields, but at 2:00 AM many people from her village came to help put out the fire thus saving the family home from destruction.
In this part of Syria are living many displaced families. People who were forced by ISIS to leave their destroyed homes and towns. They literally have nothing and so many have lost loved ones through murder or kidnapping. We try to help, but it feels like a drop in the bucket. We were helping with meals, refreshments and clothes to many families. We brought them the love of Christ. I met a lovely young married couple. Both are top university students who are living in a tiny room without electricity, studying by night with only the light of a candle. The good news is that Jesus brought hope for many families.
I also had the opportunity to preach at many churches and venues in Lebanon and there too it was very fruitful with many people coming to the Lord. We helped many Syrian refugees living in Lebanon and many former Muslims who have come to Jesus Christ. These converts have lost everything. They have no status. They can't go back to Syria and they can't stay in Lebanon. With the hope found in Christ, they are living in His peace, but they need a miracle.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we not only have a mandate to preach, but to also help with their physical needs. "Learn to do good; seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the widow." (Isaiah 1:17)
"Open your mouth for the speechless, in the cause of all who are appointed to die. Open your mouth, judge righteously and plead the cause of the poor and needy." (Proverbs 31:8,9)
Again, thank you for your support of Light For All Nations Missions. It was a big project and we are still praying for more support to come in to cover all the expenses incurred and to help more of these precious impoverished people. We are trusting God, for we know our going was in His plan and He will provide all the needs. Will you partner with us? Thank you!
Will you please pray for all these precious souls who have come to the Lord in Syria and Lebanon? Will you help Light For All Nations to continue to be present over the airwaves to help them grow in their faith? May the Lord bless you.
In Christ's love,
