Day to Day (#38) - Paul the Apostle in Jerusalem

Day to Day (#38) - Paul the Apostle in Jerusalem

187

+ After Paul fled from Damascus, he went into Arabia for three years then went to Jerusalem. Everyone was afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. However, Barnabas encouraged him and brought him to the apostles. Paul preached among them for a while but the Jews of Jerusalem tried to kill him. Paul's calling was full of suffering and persecution.

+ The disciples were hesitant to accept Saul. He might be disappointed because he was severely persecuted in spite of his respectable status.

+ Does affliction, as a result of following Jesus, disappoint you as you would rather have a stress-free life?

+ What is your main purpose in following Jesus and getting closer to God?
