+ Felix was removed from office and his successor was Festus who went up to Jerusalem. The high priests tried to gain him in order to bring Paul to Jerusalem, but he refused and insisted on continuing the trial in Caesarea. Festus asked Paul if he wanted to go to Jerusalem, but Paul refused and insisted on going to Rome to appeal to Caesar. Festus approved his request.
