August 2022 - A Season of Refreshing and Restoration
Grace and peace to you in the precious Name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Many of my sermons and messages these days have been on “Divine Restoration.” The Lord has impressed upon my heart that He is lovingly caring for His people and bringing back into the fold those who have gone astray. “I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak…” (Ezekiel 34:16a). The Lord is also bringing a time of refreshing to the weary who are repentant. “Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord” (Acts 3:19). The Lord wants us to have peace and rest. Rest in Him for He is caring for you and trust Him for your loved ones who have gone astray.
The Kingdom of God is advancing in leaps and bounds! More and more Muslims are seeking Jesus and at the same time many others are attacking our faith. We know that we have the victory! I always like to share some exciting testimonies with you so you can be encouraged.
- We received this message: “I am your brother from Morocco, one of your followers on all the programs. I want to share with you the good news – after many years of faith, I finally got baptized in water to testify that I am a new creation in Christ!”
- A man from Saudi Arabia said: “We can’t endorse Christianity here, but I am not convinced about Islam.” When he called our prayer counsellor he was terrified, but after a long conversation he said, “My heart is opened and I feel peace and happiness in my heart now.” He was anxious to know more about Jesus Christ and to grow deeper in his knowledge of our faith. He said, “Please continue to stand with me until I am stronger.”
- Another man from Saudi Arabia told us: “I live beside the Kaaba [the holiest Muslim shrine]. I came to Christ through watching satellite TV. I want to express to you that Jesus entered Mecca and the Lord is here and there are many, many others like me here.” He asked us to pray for his mother who has cancer and his family to know Jesus. He said: “Jesus is victorious and alive!”
- A believing woman from Iraq who faced tremendous persecution from her family told us that what really attracted her to come to faith was that she was touched by the love of Christ experienced through many Christians. She said, “Ever since I was a little girl I was attracted to Jesus, but because of fear I couldn’t commit.” Finally, when someone told her “Jesus loves you,” she responded, “Oh I love Jesus too!” Jesus changed her and appeared to her saying, “I am the Way, the Truth and the Life” (John 14:6).
It has been a busy summer so far with many conferences and meetings in various places and countries. I am so happy to see the effects of the ministry. Many are serving the Lord along with their families. The Lord is building His Church!
I am now working from our new office facility and the new studio set is really fantastic! It is an exciting time to be home and not travelling for a few days, as our daughter Hannah and her husband Dan are expecting their first child to be born any day (our fourth grandchild)!
I want to give those of you in Ontario an “heads-up” that we are planning a fund-raising banquet for November 26, 2022. After not being able to have a banquet for a couple years due to the pandemic, we are excited that we can get together once again. Please mark your calendars!
