October 2022 - Happy Thanksgiving!

In the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ, I send you greetings and prayers for good health, safety, joy and peace. We are glad that things are going back to normal and that people can now gather together freely which we will do soon for our Thanksgiving celebrations! I pray you will have a wonderful Thanksgiving this month for the Canadians and next month for those in the USA. We have so much for which we are thankful to God! God is our Provider, our Healer, our Helper, our Sustainer, our Redeemer, our Joy!

I have been thrilled as in these past couple of weeks I have encountered three people who expressed to me the impact that Light For All Nations has had upon their lives.

· As I was walking a few days ago on the Via Dolorosa in Jerusalem where our Lord Jesus carried His cross, I was stopped by a Palestinian Muslim man from Hebron who was shocked to see me, and he said, “I became a follower of Christ through your ministry!” He told me he follows all the teachings we post online. This news warmed my heart, or in Arabic we say “cooled my heart.”

· Another person I met in Israel was a young pastor who is a strong teacher of the Bible who told me, “I grew up hearing your teachings and that is why I want to continue teaching the Word of God.” It is wonderful when you met the younger generation who want to carry on with ministry!

· When I returned to Canada I was speaking to an Arabic congregation, and as I was praying for people I noticed a man waiting with tears flowing down his face. He approached me to say he became a believer from my ministry, and as a result all his family became believers as well!

These days with the economy in bad shape, the high inflation, and with all the struggles people are having to make ends meet, we are seeing much anxiety and depression. There are also many disasters all over the world – famines, floods, earthquakes, fires and hurricanes. We pray for the people in Florida and on those on Eastern coast who have suffered from the hurricanes. I get comfort from Habakkuk 3:17-19: “Though the fig tree may not blossom, nor fruit be on the vines; though the labor of the olive may fail, and the fields yield no food; though the flock be cut off from the fold, and there be no herd in the stalls – Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet and He will make me walk on my high hills.”

I am reminded that no evil and no weapon formed against us shall prosper for we belong to the Lord God (Isaiah 54:17). We need to continue to pray, seek the Lord and live righteously. God is in control and His perfect plans will prevail. Our hope is not in things, but in Him, our loving Saviour.

May the Lord bless you abundantly with every spiritual blessing,

Your brother,

Nizar Shaheen
