October 2023 - Happy Thanksgiving!
Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ! I pray you have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your loved ones! We have so much for which we thank the Lord. We thank God for sending His Son Jesus, the “indescribable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
I thank God for you and all the other wonderful people who love Jesus and support His mission and ministry through Light For All Nations.
I have been greatly blessed! In 2022 we had two grand daughters born and just four weeks ago, on September 7, 2023, we were blessed with a third new grand daughter born to our eldest daughter Sarah and her husband Grant Hyndman. Her name is Evangeline Grace and she is so beautiful! Now we have a total of 6 grandchildren!
Another blessing is that on October 1, 2023, our eldest son, David, married a wonderful and godly girl named Meghan Leck. She is beautiful on the inside and out and we are so happy that God brought them together! The wedding was a great time of celebration! Throughout the day I was repeatedly reminded of my father-in-law, David Mainse who passed away 6 years ago. On the wedding day, my son had his grandfather’s picture tucked inside his suit coat, and in the hall there was a display table with a framed picture of David Mainse, along with the other deceased grandparents of the couple, including my parents. In several of the speeches, David Mainse was spoken of, as he would have been so happy with our son’s choice of a wife and he played a great role in influencing and shaping David’s life.
As I am sure you can tell, the name of David is very significant for me. We named our son after my father-in-law and also after the missionary who led me to the Lord, David Groseclose, and of course there is David of the Bible, a man after God’s own heart. Interestingly, the first convert I won to the Lord was named David. Praise the Lord!
This month we have had a huge number of precious people accept the Lord through our Social media platforms, and they shared many great testimonies, but it has also been a time of the most vicious written and verbal attacks on me that we have ever encountered. We count it as blessings and joy, for we know by the opposition that we are stepping in the enemy’s territory and taking ground!
In closing I want to share a wonderful Thanksgiving Scripture with you:
“Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness, while you are enriched in everything for all liberality, which caused thanksgiving through us to God. For the administration of this service not only supplies the needs of the saints, but also is abounding through many thanksgivings to God…. Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” (2 Corinthians 9:10-12, 15)
